MARSHA MANN’s KITCHEN CARRIES on the TRADITION of the LEGENDARY WINGS at MAIN STREET BAR in ALIQUIPPA, PA.
If you are from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, whether it was to enjoy a drink with friends, play the jukebox, catch a game on the TV, or enjoy the beautiful weather on the patio, you must remember Main Street Bar. It was the first stop after the San Rocco Festival during the fabled walk enroute to the American Italian Club (AIC) and ending at the Musical Political Italian Club (MPI). Main Street Bar also had a golf outing every year that ended with a catered dinner at the bar itself.
Main Street Bar was known for its underrated, whole chicken wings. Locals knew this was a place you could get delicious bar food. Carrying on the tradition of Main Street Bar’s food menu is Marsha Mann at the Aliquippa Elks Lodge. Let us take a look at why the food is so popular.
Chicken Wings – Main Street Bar prided itself on serving unsplit, whole chicken wings which were especially eye appealing for the carnivore loving appetite. The base and key to any Chicken Wing is they need to be extra crispy, and the chicken needs to be fresh. These chicken wings check the boxes on both items. Chicken wings are meant to be messy and are a fun food to eat. These wings are heavily sauced with ample sauce for dipping at the bottom of the plate/container. Known for their famous dry rub, sauces include hot, honey mustard, hot garlic (captioned), hot barbecue, hot honey mustard, dry ranch, hot ranch, ranch, parmesan garlic, salt and vinegar, lemon pepper, and candy pepper.
Other menu items – Another popular item is their massive burgers. The appetizer list is extensive, provolone sticks, chicken fingers, calamari, breaded pizza balls, and jumbo pretzel with beer cheese to name a few. Popular sandwiches are the fish sandwich, steak sandwich, and hot sausage. Try the steak or chicken mix which consist of fries, peppers, onions, and cheese.

My final take
Don Yannessa, the legendary high school football coach was quoted in “Tough Times, the Aliquippa 1986 Documentary”, produced by Ryno Production, by saying that “Aliquippa is in my blood, just like it is in the blood of almost everyone that ever came from that town. I have never talked to many people that were raised in Aliquippa that were not proud to be from Aliquippa.” Bottom line, if you are from the Aliquippa area, you are extremely proud of your roots. Main Street Bar was a staple in the community, and now the tradition is continued with their popular and tasty food at the Aliquippa Elks Lodge. It is delicious and affordably priced! It is a hidden gem you may never knew existed…
